Visible stabilisation issues

Image stabilization has been used in (part of) the video, which causes serious distortions or hitches in the image. This may involve image stabilization during recording, such as the stabilizer of a lens or a "Gimbal" (electronic stabilizer). It can happen that sudden "larger" movements are corrected very abruptly by these stabelizers. But digital image stabilization may also have been applied afterwards in the editing. Today's digital image stabilizers make use of special calculations, called for example "Subspace Warp". The image is distorted to prevent distortions in the movements of a (wide-angle) lens. What can easily go wrong in this situation is that the automatic stabilizer tries to stabilize the movements of a person who is walking or dancing, what causes that the background or environment moves or distords very weird. Check the settings of the stabilizer used and try to adjust the settings in a way that a better and smoother result is achieved with fewer distortions. Perhaps a stabilizer should compensate less "aggressively", or just compensate position and not apply image distortion.
