Digital image glitches

Digital image glitches are deviations in the video image such as stripes or blocks, color deviations or image shifts. Or parts of the video that suddenly "freeze". It can also result in very irregular interruptions in the movements (drop frames). This type of malfunction can occur by a variety of situations.

One cause could be that the editing software cannot read a source file properly because it has been corrupted. It could already occur during recording due to a fault on the memory card, or an error occurred when copying or downloading the video file. It is also possible that the video file is not well compatible with the editing software which causes these malfunctions. The error can also occur when exporting or rendering or saving the video file from the editing software. An effect can cause malfunctions, or used images or fonts can cause these kind of render errors. But editing errors can also look like image glitches.

First of all, check that you also see the issue in the exported file, and then go back step by step in the video production process to see where the problem arises. Through "Trial and Error" you will eventually have to find out the actual cause. For example, if it is not visible in the timeline or sequence of the video project during playback, even when viewing frame by frame, it may be an exporting issue. Try a different file format, a different storage location, or a version without effects, for example. By constantly changing 1 thing, you can what is actually is cuasing the issue. Then it is important to see how the problem can best be solved. For example, replace affected footage with something else.
